Fitness Rule 1 - Listen
You see, there are personal trainers and PERSONAL TRAINERS.
The first train others in order to make their living and that’s their main incentive, which is absolutely fine, I have no problem with that.
And the latter are those for whom your body is a sculpture and your mind is a machinery of a Swiss watch.
Over the course of my 4-year-old career in personal training I realised that there is one fundamental mistake we all make - we follow blindly and we listen without exercising our critical thinking.
Because you see, there are those trainers who will make you train on their own terms. And then there are those who will not only LISTEN to you first and then train you, but they will train you under one condition only - that you will, most and foremost, LISTEN to your own body.
What makes me a PERSONAL TRAINER and not personal trainer is that I LISTEN.
Each individual has its own strength and limits, and in order to understand your goals I need to hear your story first.
I will want to know why you came here for. Is it because you want to look fitter, or you want to feel better or you want to understand the limits of your body?
Whatever the reason, it’s crucial to talk openly so that we can set realistic goals.
We often feel we can push more because those next to us are pushing twice as much. Or the opposite, we don’t utilise our strength enough because again, we don’t LISTEN to our bodies telling us we can do more.
Would you believe if I said that no single fitness or diet plan ever looks the same? I have over 50 clients now and none of the training programs are alike.
You may ask: “How do you do it?”
And I will say: “I make personal training even more personalised”.
And again you ask how I do it..
It’s complex for some, and for me it’s like a second nature. Firstly, I look at every person’s health condition and health history: injuries, any training traumas and so on.
And then, fitness level, your desired goal and even emotional strength.
Having been training worldwide I also look at where you are located, what your fat index is, your age and of course, whether you're a man or a woman.
Clear and open dialogue is crucial. And that's what I believe in most and foremost.
